My first 3 children took karate; two boys and a girl sandwiched in-between them. I had a self-proclaimed “tomboy” who wanted to do everything her brothers did. “Girls can do anything boys can!” she would proudly proclaim. She basically took karate to fight off her brothers. My younger son is a football fanatic who loves to lift weights. And of course, with my first-born son I expected nothing else but the typical “boy stuff.” So, when my youngest daughter was born, I didn’t know exactly what to expect. Turns out, she’s the complete opposite of her sister. Loves pink, tutus, glitter… everything girly and enjoys twirling in her dresses. My older daughter jokes “She’s the daughter you really wanted!” I laugh with her. So, when a new dance studio opened up across the street from me, I thought I should take my youngest to try it out and now she’s obsessed.
